'One Nation, One Agri Market' Act approved
Historical law has come, now every farmer will be able to make money from his crop
After all, that news for the farmers has come, which they have been waiting for years. The Central Government has approved the proposal to strengthen the farmers to make them self-reliant. The Central Government has enacted the law removing Mandis and Inspector Raj. Now the country's farmer will also become rich. He will have the freedom to sell his grain anywhere.
Paving the way for the 'One Nation - One Agri Market' for farmers, the Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved an ordinance allowing barrier-free trade outside the notified APMC mandis. Explain that the Agricultural Produce Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation) Ordinance, 2020 (The Farming Produce Trade and Commerce Ordinance), prohibits state governments from taxing the sale and purchase of agricultural produce outside mandis. And gives farmers the freedom to sell their produce at a remunerative price.
Announcing the decision of the cabinet, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar said, 'The existing APMC mandis will continue to function. The state APMC law will remain. But outside the mandis, the ordinance will apply. He said that the ordinance is basically to create additional business opportunities outside the APMC market yard so that farmers can get remunerative prices due to the additional competition.
He said that any farmer with PAN card, companies, processors and FPOs can sell outside the premises of notified mandis. Buyers must pay the farmers immediately or within three days and provide a receipt after delivery of the goods. He said that there would be no 'Inspector Raj' to do business outside the mandis. The minister said that there will be no legal hurdle in doing uninterrupted trade outside the mandis.
At present, farmers are allowed to sell their agricultural produce in 6,900 APMC (Agricultural Produce Marketing Committees) mandis spread across the country. There are restrictions for farmers in selling agricultural produce outside the mandis.
